Sugar Waxing 101

Sugaring

/SHU·GAR·ING/ noun

What’s Sugaring Anyway?

Sugaring is an all-natural hair removal method which originated in Ancient Egypt.

It consists of a mixture of heated sugar or honey 🍯, citrus 🍋 and water to form a candy-like paste, that is applied to the skin to remove unwanted body hair.

The Sugar Wax removes hair from the root which takes up to one month to regrow. Sugar is also a natural exfoliant, as the sugar wax removes dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, leaving it smooth and supple.

Unlike traditional waxing that removes live skin cells along with the hairs, causing a lot of pain and irritation.

Sugar wax sticks to hairs and dead skin cells only (not live cells) and so is gentler on the skin and far less irritating. Sugaring has become such a sweeter experience for women since they’ve discovered it.

Many women prefer to get sugared instead of a regular wax; because of the benefits of less ingrown hairs, exfoliates the skin in the process, easier clean up and minimal irritation.

Unlike shaving, which brings thick and stubbly regrowth, sugaring removes hair from the root which causes it to grow back thinner and softer. With continued upkeep, decreases hair growth overtime.

How sweet is that?!

Happy Sugaring! 🍯
